Another Terrific Tuesday

Two weeks ago today we spent the day at Dutch Wonderland. My mother-in-law [she's a saint!] went along with us and was a HUGE help! It was a beautiful day ~ a little hot, but we found ways to cool off: sat in the splash zone at the high dive show - which was really fun, btw, went on the log flume - even Nathan, and played at the water playground and water slides.

Evan and Ryan had a blast ~ they were the PERFECT age for this. If only Ryan were a teeny bit taller [gotta start pumping this kid with more vitamins!] he would have been able to ride on some more of the bigger rides [READ: the roller coaster]. Once again the poor kid had to sit it out while mommy and Evan went without him :( Maybe next year...

Poor Nathan was such a trooper. He is the most content kid you'll ever meet. He just goes with the flow ~ I guess you kind of have to when you're #3! I think I may have traumatized him by taking him on the log flume. He was not too into the rides after that. He was happy just hanging out in the stroller.

We tagged along through the park with some moms from my MOPS group. We all ordered our tickets together to get a group discount, which was nice. We all had a great time and can't wait to go back again soon.

Happy Birthday to Ryan

I cannot believe my favorite middle guy is 3! today....where does the time go??

We spent the day at the park playing with friends. They were all good and dirty and sweaty by the time we climbed back in the car to head home.

Daddy made dinner - yummy ribs - and then after well-deserved baths, we celebrated with a Dairy Queen ice cream cake - double yummy!

Ryan is such a sweetheart - and he keeps us laughing, too. I love the way he wants to sit with me when he watches t.v. I love the way he says, "I love you, too." I love the way he argues with Evan over who gets to pray at dinnertime. I love the way he plays so hard and then sleeps just as hard. I love the way he always asks for an extra hug and "pish" before bed. I love the way he tries anything once - food and whatever Evan does first :) I love the way he laughs all the time. I love the way he gives his brothers hugs and "pishes." I love the way he runs around with the boys' hamper over his head with only his feet peeking out the bottom [yes, he did that tonight AFTER they were put to bed...ran down the hall, back into his room and dove on his bed, all inside the hamper...YEAH, had a hard time not laughing while threatening him to stay in bed with that one...] I love his independence. I just love this little boy and can't believe how much more he steals my heart each and every day!!

{Can't post pics right now - I'm on the laptop - I'll post some tomorrow}

Smells like...

We just got back from a wonderful girls' weekend in Tennessee for my future sister-in-law, Kim's, bridal shower. Had a lot of fun and I'll post some pics later this week.

Didn't get in until late Sunday night, so I didn't see the boys until yesterday morning. Evan climbed in bed with us and gave me a hug. Then he said, "Hi, Mom." LONG PAUSE...

"You smell like Tennessee."

Where do they come up with this stuff?!?? :)

No Crust Planet

The other day at [our usual peanut butter and jelly sandwich] lunch, Evan looks at me with a scrunchy face and says, "I'm allergic to crust."

I looked at him with the 'OH REALLY' eyebrow half-cocked and said, "Allergic to crust, huh? What planet are you on?"

Without missing a beat, he answered, "No Crust Planet." That must be where all my superhero boys live.

Terrific Tuesday

Well, I have some catching up to do. It's been a while and I can't figure out why I haven't had the chance to sit down and blog. I've had lots to blog about, but I guess no time to do it.

Last Tuesday, we had the privilege of taking a day trip to the beach with my wonderful mother-in-law, Bern. She wanted to treat us - and boy, did we have fun! We spent the day playing in the sand and splashing in the water. Then we showered and went up to the boardwalk for pizza and rides. Evan & Ryan had a blast on the rides - Ryan had NO fear - he even wanted to ride on the little roller coaster and almost met the height requirement - poor little man cried because he was too short. [Gosh, I hope he grows soon :)] Nathan was content to hang out and watch from his comfy stroller seat. They enjoyed ice cream and blue cotton candy to end the evening. We didn't get home until midnight!! :) They were so wiped out, they didn't wake up until 9:00 the next day [maybe I should do that every night] Thank you so much, Bern! We had a blast! Here's a few pics of our "adventure" as we called it:

Today, we went to the park where they've started their summer preschool program. It's a weekly event through August and it's FREE - gotta love that! We saw a magic show, which was part comedy act and part balloon animal tricks. I think the kids liked it - most of the comedy was for the moms :) Afterwards, we had lunch and played on the playground with our friends. We were the last ones there [it was so stinking hot!] Hoping the kids sleep well tonight!

IMITATION CROC UPDATE....the last lost shoe has been found. In the playroom. On the floor. With all the millions [o.k., maybe I'm exaggerating, but not much] of toys. You may be asking yourself why it took us over 2 weeks to uncover it there ~ drum roll, please ~ I've given up cleaning the room because it stays clean for about 2 seconds. There - I said it :) O.K. Maybe not given up completely...every once in a while we clean up to vaccuum, but that's the extent of it...
